Wow what a wonderful getaway. The smell of summer was in the air, the watermelon was cut up and packed away nicely in a cooler full of refreshing cool beverages. The ski boat was hooked up and ready to leave for a trip to the second largest inland lake in Michigan. Beautiful Hubbard Lake, located in Alcona County, Michigan. Hubbard Lake covers over 8,800 acres in Northeast Michigan. My family and spent the weekend there enjoying the fishing, skiing, tubing and just plain boating fun.
The cabin we rented was a nicely decorated two-bedroom bungalow that was located on a wonderful part of the lake. My wife and I enjoyed the sunsets over Lake Hubbard while the children swam. In the evenings when the lake settled down we would take the kids out for boating fun. That’s the best time to get the water skis out and enjoy the large water playground that we went to Michigan to visit.
If you’re a golfer there is a great golf course located on the Southeast edge of Lake Hubbard, you can also visit the welcoming town of Hubbard Lake located one mile north of the lake. Be sure to also visit Mt. Maria, we we’re told that National Geographic voted this spot “one of the ten most beautiful lake view in the country”.
If you’re within driving distance, boating Lake Hubbard is a must. Weather you’re an avid fisherman, water sports enthusiast or just a weekend boater. Lake Hubbard is a wonderful place to get away from the daily routines that make up our lives. You’ll share lots of fun photos and memories after visiting this beautiful lake.
